The Gommer Höhenweg promises the highest hiking pleasure on beautiful paths through wonderfully fragrant larch forests and across wide alpine pastures. A breathtaking panorama of the mighty three- and four-thousand-metre peaks of the Valais Alps is guaranteed and the mighty Weisshorn pyramid (4505 m) adorns the horizon. Next to the Gommer Höhenweg via Selkingen is the Wallibachhütte. On the Gadestatt over Obergesteln you can order cholera cooked on wood fire by appointment. The Gommer Höhenweg is also the first hiking trail in Switzerland to be certified with the "Premium Wanderweg" quality seal of the German Hiking Institute.

The Goms high trail leads from Oberwald to Bellwald - along the sunny side of the Goms high valley. The Goms high trail leads through a fascinating landscape with many narrow meadow and forest paths, fragrant forests and offers a magnificent view of several four-thousand-metre peaks. The trail is well developed, as it can be reached from various Goms villages within 20-30 minutes. Thanks to the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway, which stops at almost every village, a variety of tours are possible.
