Snow shoe walking has become increasingly popular in recent years. Hardly surprising since it’s a great way of keeping fit in winter, combining adventure in the snow with relaxation in the countryside. The sun shines through the snow-laden larches and glittering ice crystals float in the winter air as you stride along leaving a trail through the snowy forest. A winter dream in the heart of the natural world. You can set out from any Goms village to enjoy the magical world of snow shoe walking and winter hiking. There is a multitude well-marked snow shoe trails with a total length of 27 km through the beautiful Goms woodlands. Enjoy the peace of unspoilt nature, either by yourself or on a guided tour.

The natural world
Goms boasts some unique flora and fauna. Red deer, roe deer and chamois as well as threatened species such as golden eagles, bearded vultures, ibex and black grouse are all at home here. These species are increasingly under threat from disruption and loss of their habitat. In winter especially, many of them struggle to survive. Help us to protect them so that we can all continue to enjoy nature’s diversity.
