Between Niederwald and Oberwald at 1,250 to 1,350 metres above sea level lies Obergoms, with guaranteed snow and brilliant sunshine. With its unspoiled natural and cultural landscape Goms is beyond doubt one of the outstanding high valleys in the Alps. The Goms cross-country ski trail has a great tradition, with the season beginning as early as November and lasting until the start of April.
With varying degrees of difficulty and a length of around 100 km the Goms cross-country ski trail connects the picturesque villages between Niederwald and Oberwald. And to make life as easy as possible, practically every village is a stop on the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway (MGBahn) and provides direct access to the ski trail, which makes it very popular with visitors who want to ski or walk through the snow-covered landscape. Whether you're an out-and-out beginner or want to refine your technique, there are plenty of cross-country ski schools where you can find what you need.
